Finally got to make a peach and burrata salad with a balsamic glaze. Yum! What’s for lunch in your neck of the woods? (I’m gonna use the neck—um, *heck*—out of that old phrase.)
The phrase ‘neck of the woods’ is a very old one. The use of the word ‘neck’ to describe a narrow piece of land such as a stretch of wood, pasture, meadows, dates back to the 800s. In the 1600s, American settlers applied the term to a settlement located in a particular part of the woods.

Yes! I taught her to embroider, sew a dress with elastic casings, and put a zipper in a skirt. We’ve had fun making all kinds of other crafts.

Pure Michigan missed the boat on this scratch n sniff. I was so excited to smell “crisp autumn air,” “radiant red and yellow leaves’ and “shining sun.” True, I’ve never smelled shining sun but I’d venture to say this wasn’t it.

I empathize!! At my job yrs ago, the owner played "lite" jazz. Every afternoon I had to endure this particular song by Kenny G. Ugh. One day I couldn't take it so I ran out to the drugstore to get a candy, anything, just to get away. Guess what was playing in the drugstore? I had a meltdown.
I just spent a half-hour practicing Kegels at the dentist as a distraction, not from the dental cleaning, but from the godawful music.
So helpful when you need images for blog posts.

Thank you! I think the shades of denim worked out well. I had originally turned a pair of jeans into a skirt the jeans waist band was too snug. So I cut it off and added the bib front and back. I love doing sewing like this.
