Small brass butterfly. The underside of the butterfly, which has little pockets to store sewing needle packets. The underside of the wings are decorated with two plates. One carries an inscription of the drapers company: The butterfly can be folded up, like how a butterfly flaps its wings. A close-up of the butterfly's wings.

"The fascists want us depleted, numb, and cynical." - I keep this top of mind daily and I actively refuse.

POV: you are trying to take a picture of your beautiful infant daughter where she does not look horrified

A very startled looking baby, looking up at the camera with her hands held in front of her. She’s lying on a bed next to a teddy bear, on a pink comforter The baby looks even more terrified, hands out to the side now The baby is pulling back from the camera and looking up to the side in apparent terror (she is fine) The baby looks to the side and seems astonished, hands flying up beside her face. Maybe she’s seeing a ghost??

That’s been my response too. Like yeah, that would suck, but also AI is making that impossible to prevent and although it would upset me it wouldn’t actually harm her

Absolutely. It’s just so much sensory input for someone who’s literally never seen any of it before

Also a PSA about why her feet look like that— she’s in casts to correct bilateral club feet. This does not hurt her and the problem will be fixed before it ever becomes an issue for her mobility, and well before she can remember it

It’s kind of her default awake face at this point and it’s hilarious

(Please do not respond to this scolding me for putting pictures of her online. I assure you I’m judicious in what I share and have considered the risks, which for a baby I judge to be very low— what, are strangers going to DM her?)
