You raise valid points. I just watched trump’s hate speech from the WH. It was exactly the message I expected him to give, and exactly the wrong message that will only foment more division and violence. Dems have a choice - respond w/words or respond w/action. I hope they choose the latter.

One of the most remarkable things of the last 9 months is how many Americans seem to believe the President is all powerful and Congress has no say. Actually Congress has been ineffective by choice. It has immense power if it had the courage to use it.
Experts estimate the rebranding of DoD will cost billions. This is in addition to renaming bases. We're basically applying an expensive Instagram filter to the DoD after we slashed budgets. The Rose Garden Club looks fancy, but it's not going to upgrade the barracks or take care of the veterans.

Amazing since the new DHS rule changing the H1B program just cleared the WH in August. From the facts I read it isn’t published yet, pending a 30-60 day comment period. I hope the pipeline of Americans graduating from these programs can keep up with the demand.

If protestors are physically threatening LEOs area, they clearly run the same risk as Ashli took. As for being whisked away, this is the same crowd that erected a gallows and was screaming for Mike Pence to be hanged. So, I think it was reasonable to protect this officer pending an investigation.
Neither do police officers deserve to be threatened by a group of protestors who don’t follow lawful commands. I believe it’s a two way street.
He didn’t get shot. He served honorably, followed orders, and most importantly didn’t do something like try to enter a restricted area. Have a good day.

Thanks for your perspective. You’re on the ”frontlines” of the pain. I don’t see anyway out of this until a lot more start feeling similar pain. It shouldn’t be lost on any literate voter that many program cuts won’t be felt until after mid-terms. Perhaps Congress will grow a spine before then.
I am a Christian and I believe God weeps over the state of our country. I have many friends who are Christians, and they simply don’t see it my way. Thank you for the civil discourse.
I believe it’s going to take pain. Average Americans are not feeling the pain yet from the actions taken the last 7 months. Many cuts in the Big, Beautiful Bill won’t happen until after mid-term elections. Many folks aren’t worried, don’t care or don’t have the time to see what’s down the road
And there is a very active, grass roots effort here for peaceful protesting. No Kings, 50501 Movement to name just two. The country of Georgia has about 4 million people. We have over 300 million, many strongly in favor of trump and his policies.
What would you suggest Americans do besides protesting, contacting our representatives over and over to express our outrage, working on campaigns to unseat incumbents, voting? I’m open to any suggestions!

In my opinion the other two branches of our government have thrown in the towel, especially Congress. There are no longer three separate, but equal, branches in our federal government. The executive branch has virtually unchecked power. I believe our only hope will be the mid-term elections.

They applied for an early retirement program, offered until 12/25. I seriously doubt there was a written exclusion based on sexual identity. It was an after thought to punish these folks. There wasn’t this exclusion in 1994 when I was granted early retirement under the same program. Disgusting

I’m not just talking about Congressional seats. Local and state elections have a huge impact on our daily lives, and serve as the foundation for success at flipping districts. Ignore them and watch NE get redder and redder.
Fully aware of Ewing’s election, and his long history of public service in Omaha. There’s nothing smart about ignoring rural areas, especially in NE that has a good percentage of registered rural voters.

I lived in NE for many years. I think it’s possible to see moderate/centrist dems once again elected there. Ballot measures show NE repub voters will break away from party affiliation. Lack of DNC funding/outreach to rural areas, and abysmal leadership at the state party level are major obstacles

Actually, in the article it points out that he used e-verify to hire the employees. The e-verify system only verifies the SSAN, not the name of the person who is using it on a job application.
