I do this all the time (read the labels on the product). I've read the riot act to store managers when I find they've mislabeled their products and make them change them right away. I've also let shoppers near me at the time, pointing out the error. I'm shameless, but I don't care!

Discovered Marty's in my local grocer and thought I'd give them a try. Now, they're the only pickles I buy! As for the garlic clove in the jar, I save them in a Ziploc bag (along with some of the brine), and then use them when I need chopped up garlic (sort of gives the food a bit of a zing).
