Davey Johnson has died at age 82. He was a 4-time All-Star second basemen who hit 43 home runs in 1973 - 1 of 3 Braves players to reach the 40 HR mark that year. He also won 1,372 games as a manager, won the 1986 World Series with the Mets & was a 2X manager of the year. nypost.com/2025/09/06/s...

The Mets have claimed right-hander Wander Suero off waivers from Atlanta, according to announcements from both clubs. In 6.1 innings this season he has an 11.37 ERA.

Carlos Mendoza said Jonah Tong will probably start Saturday's game in Cincinnati, not Friday, which would be his turn in the rotation. He also said the Mets "haven't decided" on a pitcher for Friday. Tylor Megill is pitching tonight in Triple-A so it won't be him...

I’m not sure that is was Mendoza’s decision. I don’t know how they go forward with this rotation.
Once Siri or Winker is ready, Young is gone. I’m not sure what either of them can provide. They have hardly played this season.

I wouldn’t quite call it sabotage. Rather I would call it overconfidence. Agree that Quintana at the very least should have been re-signed. It’s time for an experienced GM to be hired who could possibly have a different voice. Stearns relied heavily on Matt Arnold in Milwaukee.

Haven't heard much about Scott lately. I'm sure that when Sproat is ready that he will be in the rotation.
I’m not crazy about those generalizations. I’d like to think that those decisions are individualized based on needs at the time.
Sproat can’t pitch for a few days so, yes, I imagine that he will be brought up when he can.
