Elections arenāt run by the federal government. Trump has no way to cancel them. He could try, but a handful of red states would be the only ones that complied. Blue states would tell him to get fucked.
I donāt think heās actively working to oust Trump, but I think he was probably involved in the WSJ / Epstein leaks that were designed to weaken him. The GOP has gotten most of what they want from Trump, so they can afford to cut ties with him - just hard to do without alienating MAGA.
I think Vance taking over is actually best case scenario (other than a meteorā¦). The GOP doesnāt respect him. Thereās no cult like following. They donāt fear him, etc. Vance would likely have an extremely milquetoast presidency.
Thatās probably the goal. Trump is looking for a way to deploy the Guard in other blue cities, but thankfully he doesnāt have blanket control over them like he does in DC. In other cities, he would have to do something to incite mass protests or a riot before he could legally federalize the Guard.
