According to the Seattle Times, Mango Mussolini's thugs arrested two firefighters, and ordered the other firefighters NOT to video them. They forced all to show ID, which is illegal in Washington State unless being stopped while driving, or being officially detained. IIlegal, heavy-handed tactics.

I used to babysit my grandson as a baby & small child (he's 13 and taller than I am now!) when he was sick and couldn't go to daycare so my son & his wife could go to work. I couldn't have done that if I wasn't working at home, & I think it's the principal reason that he & I are so close.

I started teaching myself piano a few months ago (at age 70). I play drums (off and on since 2008) but piano is a whole different animal. I was told from an early age I should play piano (I have long, slim fingers) but drums is what captured my imagination. I'm loving learning piano so far.

So the plethora of school shootings hasn't accomplished that already?
Mike (@mike1954.bsky.social) reply parent
I've worked from home since 2006 and will be 71 in October. If I still had to commute to an office I would not be working. Working from home has its drawbacks but overall the positives have outweighed the negatives for me.

The children who survived the shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday are now part of a group that numbers nearly 400,000: America’s children who have been exposed to gun violence at school. These children often deal with anxiety and grief to guilt and shame.

If someone tells you there's nothing we can do about gun violence beyond thoughts and prayers, remind them: —Gun laws in other countries have prevented mass shootings —More guns don't make us safer —A majority of Americans want gun reform We don't have to live like this.

I'm not numb, just outraged that so many care more about their guns than about our children. I can no longer be proud to live in a country that continues to allow this regular slaughter of innocents, that elected trump. that shrugs its shoulders at inequality. I'm disgusted in our "leaders".
Oliver Willis (@owillis.bsky.social) reposted
part of the reason i beat up so hard on democratic weakness is we need people who are tough on the monsters that continue to allow childrens brains to be splattered on the walls by gunshots. i dont want to make nice with these people. they're not "good friends" and "colleagues" on the other side.
