It’s just a pour-over pickle, so good to eat in 3’ish days & good in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. Ours never last that long - 😂
Red onions, about 7/8 sliced fairly thinly, I use a mandolin, and it makes about 4/5 jars. I’ve packed them in way too tightly before & they don’t work as well, but you can still get a lot in a jar. The marinated black garlic is a nice addition.

Basic recipe - I usually add some Trader Joe’s black marinated garlic & a couple of cloves of marinated garlic. My favorite is using about 1.5 cups of seasoned rice vinegar & 1/2 cup of vinegar. But a lot of people use red wine vinegar. You can get as creative as you want! 🩵 @pandamom.bsky.social

I hope the people who are “just going along” meet their just fates. I think I’ll be able to forgive a true believer easier than someone who just sold out. Zero forgiveness for the people who used it for power/wealth.
I didn’t quite understand until the pandemic lockdown & the anxiety/dread left me unable to lose myself in a book for the first time in my life. Once things settled down - I picked up my book & started reading again. But, my late Mom & husband never recovered that gift.
Do you mind sharing how you did it? My Mom was a big reader & she was in a bad accident & was in the hospital for 6 weeks. She was never able to read again. Then, my husband - also a big reader, got TBI/PTSD from his military service & he’s also lost his ability to lose himself in a book.
What I can’t figure out is if it’s all motivated by greed for wealth/power, or if they know something we don’t. Or, if it’s just easier to be on what they perceive as the winning side?
A 2nd opinion for me includes a 2nd visit with my primary care, a new referral, a long wait, then if my insurance will cover it, a 6-hr round-trip into the city. Each of those visits has a co-pay. It’s so absolutely exhausting that I have been completely ignoring my autoimmune disorder.
Our neighbors had a new fence put in last week & the guy augured through their septic line. They did a home repair & are hoping it holds.

My husband told me that I was overreacting when I told him in 2018 that they would overturn Roe.V.Wade & he insisted we had guardrails in place to protect democracy. While I agree that much of this is performative BS - I also think it’s to distract us from the more heinous things they are doing.
It’s all new flower beds that I planted this spring - so it has a way to go to reach chaos level - 😂
When Trump talks about groceries being a “new” word & how you need ID to buy them - you realize that he’s never had to shop for food in his life. Give me a woman/man who has juggled groceries, dinners, kid’s schedules, while working full-time & on a shoestring budget. They are just too tired to run!

I think this is the big reason - even in my small town, Vets are owned & run by Corporations. They quoted us $2K+ for a dental cleaning, which cost $800 a few short years ago.

He’s been pretty squeaky my entire life - so, I was concerned. He eats Kraft dinner, hot dogs, boiled eggs, perogies & toast on repeat. How he’s in the shape of a 25-yr old at 80 (according to his Doctor) is completely beyond me. I suppose he always ate very well until the last decade or so.
The deer have gotten into the yard - so I’m happy anything is blooming!

My Boomer Dad was complaining about some mild stomach pain & that he’s quit farting. I was concerned until I realized that he has zero veggies/fiber in his diet. 😳 He agreed to add a bran muffin to breakfast - but they were sold out, so he got oatmeal cookies. He emailed - he’s farting again. 😂

We had a family of Pilated Sapsuckers, some hummingbirds, a red-tailed falcon & an army of finches & robins on our property at the same time the other day - it was the first good rain all summer & they all came out. A few weeks ago, we woke up to this specimen on our fence.
