I often only get 7-8 hours only if I get in a pre-bedtime name (ie, fall asleep on the couch for 1-2 hours, then go to bed for 4-5 hours). Sleeping 8 hours straight is not historically normal. Two sleeps!

What was suggested in the training is if you encounter someone being sexist or racists towards another coworker and aren't comfortable enough to confront them directly, they suggest "kick a garbage can" or something to create a distraction so the person being harassed can get away.
I used it this weekend when a man started interacting with a woman (by herself) who was obviously uncomfortable, and he got to the part where he asked for her number, I jumped into the convo and offered "Jenny's". When I didn't let go of the conversation, he wandered away.
When someone (a man, normally) randomly interacts with a stranger who is obvious uncomfortable, just by jumping into the conversation, it can break the annoying person's patter and they taper off and go away. It is the "distraction" technique.
I have learned one thing in the anti-harassment training we get through work, something I've actually used a few times on the El.

Lots of issues to write about to fit a story. Societal change - English society shifting post two revolutions - American/French + the prince as monarch, not the king. The Napoleonic war - impacted most families + from a story telling standpoint - spies and such! Tech/econ changes = class shifts.
We can win this country back--with joy, with effort, and by actually listening and responding to people's material needs. But if the thing we need is unity, fucking UNIFY.
I agree with much of this thread, but I think it needs to be said: if unity is the way to get around fascists, we need to fucking unify, and that means at this stage, swiftly discouraging the wedge issue dividers in our own party.
Keep putting pressure on the people who support him, make them paraiahs, and they will either implode or fizzle away. He has the power that people give him.
I know a lot of people with endometriosis and not only does it become their whole lives due to how debilitating it is, but people in their lives are uncomfortable with them discussing it. We really need to drop all the stigma and study this a whole lot more.
