Local LLMs trained on comparatively small datasets for personal projects aren't capable enough for even small business applications. There are some ML applications at that scale but that space was pretty well explored before the advent of LLMs
A workers' co-op can only make an LLM better for the environment if it is smaller and less capable They can not build an LLM that is less prone to hallucinations They can only implement better safety by hiring the people necessary to do it, there is no technological fix for this
