Use forms for when volume is truly huge or well-structured data is critical. Things like: - Applying for a desired resource - Bug reporting - Data collection Don't use forms for: - Early user research - Low-volume feedback - Creative collaboration (2/2)

Approximately once a month, I have to tell someone that they should not be using a [Google] Form. A form is a power imbalance. It says the organizer's system is more important than the respondent's nuance (which is true sometimes!) (1/2)

it's both, depends on whether the node you're pinning to is configured to announce its CIDs on a public DHT, private DHT, or none at all. the hardest things in computer science is naming things... you're looking for a rust crate to pin aka publish those CIDs?

My hot take after ~12y in adjacent spaces is that for every formal community, there are far more informal ones that harvest 20x the passion & attention. Buy Nothing, animal rescue, youth sports, community sports, chronic illness, music... IMO that's what people want better community tooling for.

IPFS has 49x more followers on X than Bluesky. But the same content gets 40% more engagement on Bluesky than X. Admittedly it's some pretty niche content with a particular overlap for the ATProto community, but still.

when ipfs started, public docs on the public network was how most people used it. in recent years, devs have been using ipfs components in more modular ways, including in private/permissioned stacks, or without the p2p networking. IMO "data integrity" is a better calling card now.
