Seeing much debate over Trump’s latest remarks on covid and RFK Jr Some relevant reporting Yesterday: Steve Bannon told WaPo (left) that he wanted Trump to post asap on TruthSocial, and his admin to push on vaccine data Today: Trump posts a TruthSocial (right), demanding more covid vaccine data

Still, some in Trump's orbit say they would like to see the White House be more hands-on. Bannon suggested that Trump should use his Truth Social media platform to defend Kennedy's moves at CDC ahead of his scheduled appearance before a Senate panel Thursday, when senators are expected to press him on that and other controversial decisions. He also called on Kennedy's HHS to more aggressively promote its efforts and better explain the secretary's agenda, arguing that could help win over the independent voters the party will need next year. Donald J. Trump 0 € @realDonald Trump It is very important that the Drug Companies justify the success of their various Covid Drugs. Many people think they are a miracle that saved Millions of lives. U.S. map showing that in 25 states and D.C., federal agencies like ICE and the U.S. Marshals only detain people using local jails. In other states, jails play a part in the detention network alongside federal or private facilities. In Arizona, Delaware, and Hawaii no local jails provide substantial detention space to these agencies.

My favorite sentence in the New York Times explainer on Mamdani and socialism.

The closest Mr. Mamdani gets to socialism is his belief in treating people more equitably.

Just saw a video of Bill Maher calling Mamdani a “straight up communist” and I continue to be struck by the depiction of policies associated with the New Deal Order as far-left extremism, which goes along with a refusal to depict Trump’s unprecedented authoritarian actions as far-right extremism.

That’s especially true on public social networks. I miss the days of small, well maintained bulletin boards/discussion forms. They were hard to find but enjoyable. I ran the gauntlet in public ones too in the 1990s and 2000s but I’m wait too old and out of patience for that shit nowadays.

Jesus fucking christ. The Trump administration tried to send a bunch of children to Guatemala at 3 am and justified it by saying that the kids just wanted to return to their parents in Guatemala, but the kids actually told the court that they are afraid of being sent back to Guatemala.

Tweet from Joshua J. Friedman: Plaintiffs: No. Possible some children might be in that situation, but everything we could find on short notice is children not in this situation. Judge: Mr. Ensign you saying that *all* these children have parents who are requesting their return to Guatemala? DOJ: That's what I've been told Tweet from Joshua J. Friedman: Judge: During recess, I read provision you cited and then the complaint. Every one of 10 named plaintiffs says they are *afraid* of being sent back to Guatemala. (Reads aloud from declarations.) Doesn't line up with what govt is saying. This is why we have courts.

Yes, or they can look to Pritzker, who’s on offense against not only Trump but also the movement he represents. Newsom absolutely accepts and validates their lies. The danger is that other Dems would take away the idea that throwing trans people under the bus and being “tough on crime” is the way

If Newsom manages to get nominated after alienating a big chunk of the base then people will hold their noses and vote for him. Meanwhile, the fact that people say they would never vote for him in 2025 is an electability argument against him in the primaries. So keep that up.
