I just worry that complaining about the Democratic party makes them less popular, not more; if being mean to Democrats helped them win elections, they wouldn't have lost an election in half a century. It's Republican's job to be mean to Democrats, I don't see how helping them helps us.
I praise the Democrats that are doing well and scold the ones who are dropping the ball. I try to point out the former more than the latter to show there are many Democrats fighting the good fight. Unfortunately none of them are in national or federal leadership. I hope soon that changes.

I don't think holding the minority party accountable for their mistakes actually helps them, especially not if it convinces other people that Democrats aren't worth voting for. Politics isn't team sports, the difference in electoral outcomes is measured in human lives, these things actually matter.

Category 2 has happened maybe two or three times in my adult life. Each time, the party put a policy in place that was an improvement but fell short of what was needed, then patted themselves on the back and stopped.
I liked that Democrats halved the uninsured rate, eliminated preexisting conditions, granted Medicaid prescription bargaining rights, regulated the big banks, saved the automotive industry, and repeatedly rebuilt the economy. Maybe they could have done more if voters had kept them in office.
