Why not begin by rejecting fascist framing: about how advocates for standard democratic socialism and activists working for liberation from white supremacy are”far left,” and about what “defund the police” means? Why begin by swallowing that framing whole?
Why not define who "us" is in the formulation "harder for us to win elections." Why not define what it means "to win?" Why not note that the remediation in question is one that has never been championed or attempted by the party it apparently hurts, or that the party not attempting it has failed?
Why not start with "abolish slavery?" Or with "end Jim Crow?" Or with "gay marriage rights?" Why not start with any other proposal that correctly identified a clear injustice, and clearly identified the correct solution, which were also very unpopular with people who dislike solutions to injustice?
