How? States can't interfere with people paying their Federal taxes. Are you suggesting that a state attempt to do that? And if so, how would it accomplish that. Every drop of energy expended rah rahing this impossible idea could be better spent on things that are, ya' know, possible.
You can't pay your Federal income tax to the state. Your employer is legally obligated to withhold taxes from your compensation. All of the energy spent cheering on this (impossible) idea would be better spent on things that can actually work.
How? States do not send money to other states. States do not pay taxes to the Federal government either.

Please...please stop. The governor of a state does not have the power to direct where the federal taxes of that state's citizens can be spent by the federal government. Nor can the governor somehow "withhold" payment of those taxes.

When the Tea Party was taking over the GOP I quit the party I was enrolled in for most of three decades. As the GOP has grown more extreme I became increasingly aligned with Democratic policies. But the party's capacity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is too much for me.
It's the "flood the zone" assault in action. In this case you start dismissing, or at least downplaying, certain things because of that other thing, believing that's the real thing and the one in front of you is intended as a distraction. TL;DR this timing is not a coincidence

Having taught through the era of the advent of smart phones, c. 2008 - 2009ish, to the end of last year I will always agree that cell phones have become destructive. That said please keep in mind the burden this adds to classroom teachers' job. Admin needs to step up if this is going to work.

As a lawyer turned h.s. social studies teacher who bid the classroom farewell last June after 20 years I cannot even imagine(!) teaching about the Judicial branch now. You are so right, what's happening defies every understanding I formed and held over both of those careers. This is insanity.

Here in NH the Republican controlled legislature passed a bill, gleefully signed into law by the allegedly moderate Republican governor, to remove the income cap on the voucher program. Literally the richest family in the state can take my tax dollars.

I literally watched this (well, I didn't snoop to the point of seeing if the person was in bed) at a restaurant in Concord, NH yesterday evening. I was sitting outside, but still. For crying out loud, invest in some earbuds!
I feel a mix of frustration, disappointment, worry when I see things like this. After a 15 year career as an atty, I taught high school for 20. I would tell my students that the evidence they need to critically assess the most is any that confirms their prior, existing beliefs.
They know that the only way they can cling to power is by dumbing down the population. Unless of course you are white and wealthy. Then it's all good.
