Yes, I hear you. And yet those are rights he’s stripped from a complicit Congress. Elections are controlled by the states, and many of them are likely to resist such an over-reach.

The Secretary of HHS does not accept that germs cause illness. The logical conclusion of that is the worst pseudoscience of all: eugenics. He believes that it is not germs that cause illness, but personal failure (or if you're Chinese or Jewish he thinks bioweapons were designed to avoid you).

He can say that all he wants, but legally he doesn’t actually have the power to “cancel” elections. We’ve had elections during the Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, and both recent Middle East wars. Bombing Venezuela ain’t going to cut it even for Teflon Dumpie.

I believe CVS follows HHS guidelines, so if it’s RESTRICTED (as opposed to recommended) to >65 or with specific health conditions, that’s what they’ll enforce. If only recommended for certain people, then you will be able to get it but you might have to pay for it.

It was a powerful and moving experience to visit it a few years ago. I hope it can be reconstructed in the future when (waves hands) this is all over.

I don’t disagree, but it’s harder to pass a constitutional amendment (which abolishing the EC would absolutely require) than to pass legislation regarding apportionment in the House.
“States’ rights” has ALWAYS been about protecting white, male oligarchy. And those who “support” it instantly drop the slogan the second it no longer serves that end. True now, at the Constitutional Convention, and during the Civil War.
Or, we could just repeal the 1929 law that capped the House. No need for reapportionment if you did that, and it would make the House AND the EC a bit more democratic. You could also legislate the EC to be more democratic (as opposed to winner-take-all).
And impeach the obviously corrupt and the ones who lied to Congress.

Unfortunately, not all blue states can gerrymander. Many of them did the morally correct thing at some point in the past and made independent redistricting the law in their states (see NY which won’t be able to get away with this until at least 2028).
