When new leadership takes over and starts to make your life a living hell, it is incredibly hard to stay on. I fought for two years before they fired me…but it ruined my mental health.

Agreed. A low-level employee always gets fired. A CEO can burn a company into the ground and leaves with a giant bag of money, and has a new CEO job by the next week. If leaders (CEOs, govt officials) do wrong, perform poorly, it should be a dismissal.

Fight back how, exactly? Unless you can suggest something more concrete than "fight back," maybe it's not the time to criticize people who choose to resign rather than do something they know will be harmful to the public they're trying to serve.
You can clog the system, you can slow walk documents, ask for forms to be filled. Etc. There are ways to make things difficult through bureaucracy.
If you're a low-level clerk, sure. If you're a supervisor or administrator, it's a slightly different story. What form do you ask for when your boss says "This is the new policy to be implemented effective immediately"? Your choices are do it or don't. 1/
How do you slow walk scientific research? How do you "clog the system" with medical recommendations? Slow walking these things is also incredibly detrimental to the public, especially since the public would have no idea what was happening. 2/
If the best option available is making sure that the public you're serving is aware that their health and medical care are in jeopardy, then going public and resigning in protest is pretty much your option. 3/end
You say yes and that is a lie.
Policy implementation and change also take time, they take documentation and meetings and discussions. I understand that it isn’t always so easy, but it seems that not enough are even trying. Of course, the true blame rests on the administration.
But if you stay they are set up new procedures that if you don't comply you don't get paid. And that makes it even worse. I watched a very intelligent person who knows what's going on tell us on a video on youtube. It might have been Midas Touch or Occupy Democrats touch or somebody.
These are real people w/ all the complex issues of life. They may have family issues that make the stress and danger of a long court fight untenable. They may have been struggling with mental health issues since this nightmare began. They may have to get another job that a firing might jeopardize.

If you notice, these senior management are taking a public stand, maybe because younger employees cannot afford to do so. They are focusing the vitriol of the deranged MAGA regime to protect their employees.

Dr X can be working at another lab, university, writing a book, etc and free to make statements when RFK's CDC inevitably opts to ban more vaccines.

Resign because if you are a highly qualified and competent Dr at the #CDC and they tell you to sacrifice chickens under the moonlight, it is better to resign and work in EU, CA or somewhere else. Somewhere where mystery, magic & bull 💩 politics does not win out over proven science and people's lives
