Are you already in Oregon now? In the western side or east of the Cascades? If you are in Western Oregon, you need to take a trip over the Cascades. ~3000 foot elevation in low lands but lots of higher areas, mostly rural, desert climate. There are lots of dark skies over there.
We're a nice state. I'm glad you are coming here. We also have some places with nice dark skies you would love to stargaze at if you're up for driving out to the eastern parts of the state. But even places not so far out like Central Oregon away from Bend are very clear crisp milky way views.
