I headcanon pretty hard that Urianger's oddly appropriate surname was granted by Louisoix, much like Thancred's. It's canon that Urianger was abandoned by bio parents after Moen's mom offered to take Urianger in, and their surname isn't explicitly stated in EE3. Urianger may've chosen a new name.

Why would I celebrate the death of someone I had to look up on Wikipedia on hearing the news? He seems like basically an annoying "influencer"/troll. I feel bad for his kids and wonder if he was assassinated to distract the media from the pedo-in-chief's doodle, but that's not celebrating.
And really, Zero, Wuk Lamat and Sphene were the central characters of the past three arcs, the Scions haven't had a lot of spotlight (even when they should have [Krile.])
That's kind of what they've done; not a single one of the Scions have followed us *constantly* since the end of base Endwalker. We had Y'shtola, Estenien, Vritra and Zero as our party for the post-Endwalker stuff, Wuk Lamat, Krile, Erenvelle and the twins for DT base with Y'shtola and G'raha late.
I mean, Thancred and Urianger haven't really been part of your party since the end of the initial Endwalker MSQ outside of brief appearances where your paths intersected; is them being alive and available for future plotting really a problem? Lyse has been left in a similar state.
Counterpoint: there are ways to "make room" other than *permanently killing off characters.* Heck, there's plenty of examples in 14 itself. If your response to a character's arc being done is "OK you can die now" you're going to end up with no one investing in characters anymore.
I did the same thing on my Urianger alt, so you're not alone.
The thing is, cisgender people-- probably vastly more cisgender people by count-- get HRT, too. I used to hear radio ads touting testosterone treatments for natal males all the time, and it's not uncommon for natal females to get estrogen after menopause or if their ovaries have to be removed.
Which tracks for the party of pro-birth. If half your kids die 50% more kids will be born to replace them.
And then if you do Panda fight 11, you get a boss that looks a lot like two prior MSQ trial bosses fused together that uses both of their elements. If you read between the lines, there's an implication that Trial A was what was left after the other element was used to make Trial B....
Later on in a short story, they show up briefly and are both simply referenced as "women," but their romance isn't mentioned, so that short story is still okay in countries with censorship because the censors aren't going to go cross-reference side quests.
...you can find a quest chain about two people who are courting (whose names you might have encountered in some optional content.) One of them is referenced with feminine pronouns, but the localizers went out of the way to never use a gendered pronoun with the other one.
There's speculation that the reason why the devs hint *strongly* about characters being queer in-game but never confirm it in-game is so they can avoid censorship in countries that don't allow LGBTQ content. For another example, if you do the side quests in the level 86 Endwalker zone....
My assumption was that was a translation of the Eorzean terms for "fancy word for a week" and "fancy word for two weeks" and the translator didn't put too much thought into the etymology. ;)

They just kind of ignore it. A copy of ARRianger hangs out in the Waking Sands until you finish all his quests, then when you do he starts to walk away, then vanishes.

If it helps and you want to copy my headcanon (feel free to!) I hc that Sharlayan libraries have free Archon Loaf for anyone who wants it. It's food assistance for the poor and a way to make sure their busy scholars eat. Little Urianger never went hungry because he more or less lived in the library.

I made an Elidibus deck and really considered more self-mill, but you can only do so much with 100 cards and still have a win condition. (It does go heavy on recursion, though-- hard to kill permanently unless you use the right method [exile] and desperately trying to reclaim what was lost.)
Many stores have moved to digital coupons over paper ones (harder to counterfeit, easier to track, can make it easier to offer loss leaders without someone buying out your entire stock for resale.)
To be fair, the conservatives are just as keen to ban anything they don't want a four year old to have access to offline, as well.

There didn't end up being an Elidibus card, but there is a Warrior of Light card that works for a SoS deck. (When you summon a legendary, start drawing cards until you find a second legendary of the same/lower cost and summon it, too. Other cards go back in the deck.)

I think it might have actually been fine from Elidibus' PoV. The First is no longer actively Flooding and Hydaelyn sacrificed a powerful pawn in order to do it. He still came out ahead.
I'm reasonably certain that Y'shtola's bit in 5.3 where she gets nabbed, rescues herself and calls Elidibus out as a primal was written for Urianger, but they needed him for Eden so they switched Y'shtola in.

Same here. There is a character who *consistently* uses weapon imbues in his fights, so the magic exists.
Marketing. Imagine if your 30 second grocery ad featured the cartoony noodle people interacting with products *you* buy that are on sale this week. Marketers would love to make bespoke commercials for an audience of one household if it were financially viable.
...I can promise you that there are marketers salavating over theoretically being able to serve you bespoke targeted 30 second ads informing you that this week your personal favorite brand and variety of coffee is on sale this week with that exact item appearing in *your* ad and called out by name.
In theory, it means that instead of paying artists like actors or animators for their work you can just tell a computer what you want and it'll pop it out for you. That's not a good thing in the minds of people who *like* art or people who make art for a living, mind you. But...

Yeah. Which is frustrating, because if it's clearly labeled and they *chose* to click into the adult space that's on them. But at the same time there's a good chance it's a result of how they were raised and not a conclusion they came to on their own. I grew up in rural Ohio, I get it.
It just wouldn't be viable for an artist to hand make more than maybe one generation, although I could imagine a system where monsters were modular and certain parts were dominant/recessive traits and that's how you did hybrids if you wanted to build something without AI.
...imagine a monster collector game where you can breed monsters to get a hybrid. Hire an artist who knows your plan, have them draw your original generation. But using AI to gen your hybrids means your fifth generation Mon can have the traits of all 62 of its ancestors reflected in its sprite.
And really, even those could be philosophically acceptable in some narrow circumstances where having a human do it wouldn't be viable (outside of the inherent issues with art theft in the training phase and heavy resource use.) For example...
Also, if chocolate chips are too expensive and the shopper decides to not make cookies, that's not just one unit lost-- they're also not buying flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder, and so on for their recipe (they might have them at home, but they'd still use some up and have to replenish eventually.)
Among other reasons, stores cost money to run-- rent, utilities, employee wages, and so on. If imported goods get more expensive and people cut back on their spending in response they need to make up that lost revenue, and increasing margin on domestic goods is an option.

In theory, it can probably run the original doom via DOSBox, although I'm not sure if you can wrangle controller support or not. If you don't mind sailing the high seas, the PS1 port would probably be easier to get working.
