First of all, the word is "lawfare", a portmanteau of "law" and "warfare". Second, the lawfare argument relies on the notion that Trump is completely innocent. What's more likely, that Trump's had dozens of court cases over the years because people just hate him, or because he's actually a criminal?

That's quite literally NOT the kind of race Hogg has said he's talking about, though. He's explicitly said he's not targeting "front-line" members facing tough reelection battles. The stated goal is to target complacent Dems in safe seats in order to revitalize the party.
This rests on the premise that Manchin and Sinema were uniquely bad, and that there weren't others willing to fill that role if necessary. We certainly need to elect more Democrats, but we ALSO need to primary the Democrats who are useless or actively harmful.
When did Hogg say he wants "fewer" Democrats? I'm not saying his plans are fully fleshed out, I'd certainly like him to be more articulate. But the core of the idea is to replace these old, indolent, useless Dems with fresh new blood who are willing to fight. Through democratic primaries, btw.
There aren't enough of them because they suck. They suck in large part because many of their donors don't want progressive policies, so they pay them to suck. Democrats would win more elections if they didn't suck. That's my stance.

Build Back Better would have been awesome, it couldn't pass because of exactly the kind of Democratic party politics I'm talking about. How many Democrats were out there running on a platform like that with their whole chest? Instead you get this mealy-mouthed bipartisanship stuff that never works.
I recognize that things were different then. I also recognize that we've been trying the "triangulation" strategy since Reagan, and it has resulted in our politics slipping further and further to the right, as Republicans continue to push for their agenda and Democrats refuse to fight.
FDR wasn't perfect by any means. That was a stain on his presidency, no question. How about we push for FDR-style policies, but make it equitable this time? Do you think that's just not possible? Isn't it worth trying? Standard Dem political strategy has lost us EVERYTHING, it's time for a change.

I think the big difference this time is how D&D is losing its dominance in social media. I remember a bit of drama that happened a couple of years ago with D&D players who did NOT want to hear about other games and resented them being suggested. Influencers seem to be increasingly open to new games.

Hello from Arkansas! There are of course good people here, but by and large it really is as bad as you think it is.
They were terrified of many of the provisions, because like all greedy capitalists they can only think in terms of short-term profits. They ended up profiting enormously from the new paradigm.
Don't get me wrong, the ACA was helpful in its way to me and my family, compared to nothing. But we could have had much better outcomes without the enormous downsides. We could have done what literally every other developed nation does. It's so frustrating.
"As close as possible" is an absolutely foolish thing to say. The ACA is a huge giveaway to the private insurance industry, it basically forced us all into their ecosystem. We could have had a single payer system if the Democrats had had any desire for such a thing.

Not everything has to be perfectly constructive all the time. Plenty of people have been suggesting direction to the Democrats for many years, to little effect. It's not always worth explicitly detailing every one of your policy prescriptions when you're just needing to vent your frustrations.
It's not bad faith, it's exasperation. Sometimes people are just screaming into the void as an outlet for their frustrations. The Democratic establishment has never listened to us in the past, so why should we expect them to now?

Well the argument for the classic JRPG "blank slate" that doesn't talk is that you can "project yourself" onto the character. But I've never bought that, it just makes me feel like I'm playing a robot.
Depends on what is meant by "blank slate". If you mean an Elder Scrolls style "you can be anyone" protagonist, then yeah. But if your protagonist is a JRPG style wide-eyed mute who speaks in grunts and can only say yes/no, then I do think that's pretty lazy.
