I live in upstate NY. I just finished a long trip which took me down the east coast to Georgia, up through Tennessee (stayed in Knoxville), Kentucky and Ohio. During the whole trip, I saw a total of 3 trump flags/bumper-stickers etc. 1 in NC, 2 in my home town.
It depends on how old you are. While I always had a back problem (I was born with) I never really knew physical problems until I turned 40. Now that I’m 45, my elbow hurts from holding a book. My back hurts from… sleeping. I get cold when the temp is below 30. I’m not as pretty as I used to be…
I teach high school (math) and interact with a lot of great artists. I keep telling them to learn 3d design and animation. They never listen to me.

Seriously. Before “AI” everything, I taught an elementary stats class, and did computerized multiple regressions to find things like, most likely sale price for a house, or if someone was expected to live or die the titanic disaster.
That is very refreshing to hear. They put out about 6 bangers in the last millennium, but have been otherwise unremarkable. Self awareness goes a long way with me.

I loathe AI. Recently, I needed to submit a financial form to roll an SEP-IRA into a solo-401k. All I needed to know was where to send it. The stupid AI bot kept telling me the differences between an SEP and a solo-401k. 18 wasted minutes until I finally got a human who said, “upload to this link.”

I’m a 45 yo teacher who just finished my student loans off last month. (I would still be paying, but I got half of my loans forgiven for public service in a high needs district.). My favorite current student is not the brightest kid, but he wants to learn heavy machinery. So maybe he is bright.
I’m always amazed at when I see people “showing off” what they can do. Like bragging about “almost 95% accuracy” determine whether or not a picture is of a hot dog.
I think the most curious thing about this very public bribery is that the president is still a well documented child rapist and the Epstein Files must be released immediately.
