I saw teeth in the baby elephant's mouth. It then dawned on me that I didn't think elephants had teeth, only those two tusks, which I found out are two of their 26 teeth. I'm truly learning something new all the time on Bluesky.

Elephants do Not belong in captivity or a confined zoo. Elephants need to roam miles and miles each day. They need ponds to swim in. They benefit greatly in sanctuary.

Sanctuaries are accredited zoos with less funding and typically less expertise. Elephus care requires a degree.

They do. Unless there is no safe space remaining for them in their natural world. Sometimes, if these wonderful creatures are at risk because of habitat destruction, (humans) it is our obligation to keep the remnants safe from *us.* It is a shame, but our duty, in an imperfect world.
