It's the Liar's Paradox, but for people whose brain worms have rendered them so addle minded that they think asking the question twice will make a difference. Or rather, it would be the Liar's Paradox if the conversation had taken place, and I would bet good money that it did not.
Bananas
One can assume that for Bobby 'are you a trustworthy person' and 'are you going to get in line' are analogous questions.
I don't doubt he asked her, "Can I trust you?" and she said "No" because she plans to follow the science and he's thinking that's the same as asking if she's trustworthy.
exactly
loyalty not fidelity
In his worm-eaten brain, I think this is it. He's using "are you a trustworthy person" as an analogue for whatever question he really did ask, which was at least implicitly if not explicitly, "can I count on you to fall in line?"
They should have asked what he meant by "trustworthy." Like in the mob way, i.e. Trump asking if the valet/groundsman at Mar a Lago could be "trusted"?
maybe he asked her: Can I trust you to go along with all my stupid ideas? and she said no way
No wonder they refused to make him take an oath before this testimony.
I am sorry, what is this Dora the Explorer shit, they're doing over there?
Clearly, what she was asked was “Can you be trusted to be loyal?” or “Can you be trusted to obey the policies of Trump?”
bsky.app/profile/jeff...
This was just a total abrogation of protocol. The rules very clearly require him to ask THREE times.
.....glad they didn't, like, just take his word on this one
I bet the question was... Will you loyal to trump and me?
Unexpected plot twist 🤨
Worth noting that this does not square, like, at all, with ousted CDC director Susan Monarez’s chain of events (Also reminds me of the SAT-style conundrum of whether you should trust a liar who says “I’m lying,” but am currently too tired to puzzle out the answer.)
what kind of idiot asks that question of an employee and/or makes up a story that he asked that question? monumental levels of terrible judgement from rfk joker
Did anyone ask about Kennedy contacting a medical journal to get the Danish study retracted? www.reuters.com/business/hea...
You are standing in front of a locked door. In front of you are two CDC Directors. One who can only tell the truth, and one who can only tell lies. You can ask one question.
You are asking questions of a man you know lied to attain the position that put him in the chair to answer questions today. Do you believe any of his answers?
RFKJr is a multi year drug user and serial adulterer. Why would anyone expect the truth from him?
My friend Paul told me that if you ask an untrustworthy person if they're untrustworthy they have to tell you, just like an undercover cop has to tell you they're a cop if you ask them before you sell them a gram of coke. Paul's doing 20 years in the pen right now.
It just sounds like a dumber version of when Trump had dinner with Comey and repeatedly asked him if he could expect loyalty.
YUP
Maybe he was really asking, “Can I trust you not to rat me out for being a complete fool?” And she said no 😂🤣 Makes way more sense.
For instance when he decided in his worm eaten brain that death or long term effects of catching something horrible is somehow better for people than preventative measures like vaccines. This is a scorching red flag that he belongs nowhere near leadership for the health of Americans. #resist
@pbump.com was on that too🤣 bsky.app/profile/pbum...
He was weaselly throughout the hearing, but later he accused her of “pre-judging” the new ASIP board and saying she wouldn’t approve them regardless - “Are you a trustworthy person [who I can trust to approve them]?” And furthermore his accusation of “pre-judging” seems like obvious projection…
… so one gets the feeling that he called her in and said “we’re firing the ASIP board and putting in new people,” and she said “uh, I can’t go along with that, we really shouldn’t be doing that” and he said “really, you’re PRE-JUDGING THEM without even knowing who they are???” and fired her
Trust you're going to follow up with a response from Monarez? Can't wait to hear her version of this...
“Following the hearing, Monarez’s lawyers Abbe Lowell and Mark S. Zaid said in a statement that Kennedy’s claims about her were “false and, at times, patently ridiculous” and that she would repeat what she wrote in the Wall Street Journal under oath.” www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...
Thank you. So he lied directly to @warren.senate.gov and @sanders.senate.gov in the hearing. He's a hack and a liar with an extremely dangerous level of authority.
But when asked MAGAGOP refused to put him under oath. So he’s lying his raggedy face off with impunity.
Why would you ask that? Why on Earth would you believe that? Why should Monarez defend herself from a proposition that sounds completely made up and juvenile in the first place? That's like saying that man who was born in Hawaii should have to produce his birth certificate for people making claims.
Of course I don't believe it, but it's important that journalists follow-up and debunk these blatant lies because there are obviously plenty of people out there that still believe these serial liars and it needs to be publicly exposed.
I’m pretty sure it was a jab at RFK Jr saying she wasn’t trustworthy.
she couldn't be trusted to go along with his crazy policies
No joke, my assumption was that this interaction happened and this was basically what she was saying
I’m more inclined to believe it never happened, but I wouldn’t put it past RFK Jr to completely mishear someone and just roll with it.
mishear, misconstrue, or just putting his special spin on an answer from her he didn't like
RFKjr doesn’t go for jabs.
Also, if you were going to ask this bizarre question of "Are you a trustworthy person?", isn't this something you should ask before you hire someone? I mean Monarez wasn't an unknown quantity. Her lack of trustworthiness would probably be known beforehand. Why did RFK hire an untrustworthy person?!
He asked a different question, after asking her to keep secrets. He's lying.
Oh, I know. I am just explaining why it makes no sense as a true story. It's a terrible, nonsensical lie! lol
yes! He lied to Congress.
Every one of Trump's picks have...and Trump is the chief liar. There hasn't been consequences for any of their disastrous decisions!
bsky.app/profile/smit... Yep - you have evidence that he lies and prolifically. Senator Crapo crapped on all of America - but not letting him lie under oath!
Obviously you ask the clone in front of the *other* door what they think the first clone would give in answer to that question. Either the true-teller tells the truth about the liar or the lair tells the... Look, I'll draw a diagram
Kind of a cheesy song, but I love Nick Lowe and it fits perfectly..."All men are liars and that's the truth" youtu.be/m6hzkBihaew?...
@kennotsosmart.bsky.social
I can’t imagine why the chair of the committee refused to put RFKjr under oath.
They refused to allow a swear-in for a reason.
Truly strange answer by the Junior Kennedy. He says he has witnesses. Let’s hear from the former director — DIRECTLY.
