My daughter is leaving the USA and moving to my house in Malmö, Sweden. She and her husband can do this because they both work their science jobs remotely. They can not live here anymore. She received Swedish citizenship last month. I may have to follow her. Well, shit!
I understand completely. Our daughter and grandkids live in Europe and I’ve been checking apartments near them. This is where we’re at.

My friend just completed Canadian paperwork and is aiming for Nova Scotia. We're moving to Mexico (mountain town; 1 hr'ish from MX City) in fall. Rent for 6 months. Observe from there how usa breathes.
I have dual citizenship. This country was very good for me &my family. We have opportunities to work hard & achieve our dreams. And no I am not leaving. Americans fight for your country,grass is not always greener.You have the rights to be with your friends, family. Refugee life is not easy.
I missed my dad’s funeral, many weddings,bdays my relatives. I missed home made food, going to theater and see plays in my language. I missed countryside and old castles. I was part of everything there. Here even after 30 years sometimes I still feel an outsider, like during thanksgiving.

I have done this. Several families that wanted to return to Michoacan were able to do so with some financial help from me and some of my family. I worked with them for decades and now they have to leave. Well, shit!

Understandable. I have a friend with young children and even so, he and his family are considering moving to Costa Rica. Colombia is inexpensive if you earn/have USD, but you must learn at least basic Spanish.

I’ve been in the U.S. over 13 years. I’m moving back to Australia in just over a week and taking my American wife and child with me.
I’m sorry. We have never been perfect, but most of us at least tried. A minority went off the deep end and we’re all paying the price.
I think the real problem is that it’s more than just a little sliver of the US populace. Every single person that voted for Trump is complicit in the destruction and doesn’t mind the bigotry. That’s 77,302,580 people. We need to wake up to the fact there is A LOT of hate in this country.

I had an opportunity to obtain a Spanish citizenship, because of DNA and my family tree. The drawback was I'd have to relinquish my US citizenship. I didn't want to do that back then. In hindsight, I wish I would have.

Why do you assume Mom and Dad are financing their move? Dad's house in Sweden could be empty now for all we know. Dad is in the US. He didn't say he gave them the house to keep. We don't know that Mom and Dad gave them a cent. Sounds like they have the funds and smarts to make it on their own!
