33. Those Old Scientists is perhaps the greatest work of new Trek series, it is perfect. Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid elevated the game; I loved every second. I think it is the most-watched new ep for me. It bears repeat viewing. Such a love letter to the franchise.

My only critique of that episode was that we didn't get more of Boimler and La'an working together. I thought they had great chemistry, especially with La'an understanding how Boimler feels about the time travel challenges. Also we need her to have an opportunity to use the Grapplers.

34. Also can't say enough good things about Lower Decks. Lovingly crafted, all the characters are memorable and fabulous, the Easter eggs are epic, another dedicated, fantastic team. Mariner is top tier, Tawny is excellent always. Dr. T'Ana πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ in particular always cracks me up.

35. We did not get enough of Grudge the cat. I wanted a weird Grudge-centric episode. Maybe she turns into a human! Maybe she is part Flerken! Maybe she eats something she shouldn't & shenanigans ensure. You get the idea. My cat would fully eat an alien plant & cause problems.

36. Fans seem to be irritated by episodes with shenanigans. My siblings in Christ, this is Star Trek. The history of shenanigans is vibrant! Lean in! SNW s3 ep 2, Wedding Bell Blues, is good fun dressed in formal wear. "The gods mess with the mortals" is an ancient plot device. Let it ride!

37. Mads Mikkelsen needs to add Star Trek to his franchise gauntlet. His wardrobe also needs to be sexy. Space pirate Mads, charming and here to steal your girl before saving the day. A great guest star for SNW, yes? Call me for more ideas!

Group chat the other day brought this up, only with Lars Mikkelsen as Garth of Izar. Mads as an angry Illyrian? Enjoys shoving Federation law in it's face by providing aid only Illyrians could provide? Maybe he's that one guy from Una's past?

I am up to 63 likes?!? Hell. Just a couple more then I gotta get ready for brunch. Yum! 38. Seven of Nine's growth = chef's kiss! Her improved wardrobe, her struggles with the military system of Starfleet, her sense of justice...great work by Jeri and the team.

39. Is there a better audience-character arc than with Captain Shaw? Ep 1 I hated this man. How dare he speak to Picard & Riker like this! 8 eps later, I was sobbing my face off, following him into battle. Masterful work by Todd Stashwick, who is a delight + fab edition to the Trek family. 🫢🏻

I felt the way his story ended was a misstep, but then I always felt like that episode was like hitting a pothole on the freeway. The whole season was otherwise pretty great and had lots of elements I enjoyed, especially Shaw. Even when he was a jerk to Picard and Riker, he wasn't wrong about them.

Like, I realize he was being mean to Picard, but my brothers in Sarek, Picard was there under false pretenses and ended up dragging Shaw's crew into terrible danger behind his back.

41. Oh god 30 more? Let's get to 50 and see how I feel haha The Burn (Discovery s3) was a cool concept with a middling resolution. Su'Kal caused the Burn with his grief, basically. I didn't like that it was tied to one being's emotions; I wanted a more science/space-related reason.

42. Kelpians on the whole, however, are a great addition to the Trek universe and extremely well executed. We all must shed our fear ganglia and ascend to the next phase of being! Action Saru!

When I first started watching Discovery, I gravitated more towards Saru, as I did with Data back in TNG. As someone who is neurodivergant, @actordougjones.bsky.social portrayal of Saru is a light of hope for me, as I'm doing my best to work on and hopefully overcome my fears.

43. Voyager's "Death Wish" is one of the best episodes out there and certainly a top ep for that series. A courtroom episode...with a twist. We live for a good courtroom moment and this time, even Riker dropped in! πŸ™ŒπŸ»
