I'll try to finish more illustrations, but I just have gotten into the cycle of sketching a lot. It's wild looking back just a couple of years, where I compulsory had to finish every single piece I began. And now I hardly finish any, even though I want to :' ) Hope the snippets keep you fed <3
We're well fed! Whatever you feel you're able to draw / share or want to draw / share is enough 👌 I understand that, though.. and now, I've amassed a pile of WIPs. Sketching is mostly whats on the docket, these days.

Yeh.. yeh... IDK what happened, I just.. forgot how to finish pieces, I guess :' ) It's so frustrating because I know I'm a technical better artist now than then, but I somehow was better at wrapping everything up! There's some old pieces where I really like the vibe even tho it looks like crap.

I think for me it is super unhealthy perfectionism/impossibly high standards/fear of failure that I don't know how to shake. 😔
Yeah, that's probably a big part of it for me too. I guess socmed is once again ruining something for me in terms of not being able to just _create_ for the sake of it. It always has to be an end goal of sharing. Which is why sketches are so sacred to me. I rarely fully share those. They're for me.
Not finishing + stubbornly drawing characters nobody gives a shit about lol definitely helps me feel like I am doing it for me.

I understand the pain of not finishing works. I have about 30 pieces that are laying and waiting for my attention. But the snippets keep us very well fed. Even sketches are amazing and a good meal. There's something nice about seeing raw works
I still rarely post full sketches, it's just a mental barrier I'll always have. Just too intimate, I suppose. but if I didn't share snippets at this point we'd go months with silence and just dumb text posts from me :' )
Posting sketches is tough, but I honestly think that in your case your sketches are very pleasant to look at, your linework is sooo good and the use of different colors to sketch helps with clarity
I don't mind sketches being this or that way, it's just too intimate for _me_ to share the full sketch. Can't explain it, it just is.
That's a totally valid feeling though. I can't really blame ya for that and the fact you're still posting snippets despite that is admirable

Sketches are equally good, especially yours, the are of such high quality. I love them, inlove watching the process of making, think of then like a different type of cake then you usually do. But it's stil cake!
