It’s wild that we all have to behave as though all illegal stuff is fine until the Supreme Court itself says no. Not only that, the President can apparently ignore all Supreme Court precedent ever set as well and effectively declare he doesn’t like certain precedent and it should be changed.
The purpose of writing illegal executive orders is solely to get it to SCOTUS for them to overturn the precedent Trump doesn’t want to follow. And he gets to do a bunch of illegal shit until then. The default setting in America is “Trump is right about the law.” It’s disgusting.
And even after they rule he doesn’t follow it sometimes (see Kilmar Abrego Garcia).

There are so many spots on this wild ride where if a few public officials just thought of the good of the nation over their own political aspirations it could’ve prevented all of this. We’re being punished for our sins now.
I guess that's how it usually happens.. Some actively helped him, MANY with power just did nothing. And what's that old saying? "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"

Mainly I blame Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy, and the conservative majority on the Supreme Court. They held the door open for these barbarians.
Yeah.. I thought the immunity ruling was the beginning of the end.. Worse, they weren't specific about what constitutes a president's "outer perimeter of official responsibility" and the presumtive nature of the immunity... So that way they get to decide what counts + what doesn't
