What about its soul?
What about its soul?
Colourless.
Damn. Now Trump will be wanting these guys deported as well.
that doesn't sound quite right but I don't know enough about chickens to dispute it
They are melanistic, so yes pretty much everything inside and outside them is black. The black eggs are fake however.
well goddamn that is cool as hell
It really is!! Chickens in general are pretty cool. I spend a lot of time observing them. They are fairly complex little beings.
It's weird that with a bird already so cool somebody would feel the need to throw in an additional fake thing with it, feels kind of like putting a hat on a hat
I know. I learned that the hard way. But I love my cenamis
Right? Yeah people are so weird. The bird is plenty bad-ass already. Always gotta weave in some misinformation. Impossible to keep up with what is real and what is not!
Yup! I have this breed. White eggs. Easter egger crosses are dark bodies and skinned with a light colored egg. Pretty birds but the eggs aren't black
It's like, how much more black could this chicken possibly be? And the answer is none. None more black.
Ayam Cemani chickens, known for their all-black appearance, do not lay black eggs. They lay cream-colored or slightly tinted eggs. The myth of black eggs stems from the Ayam Cemani's striking black plumage, skin, and organs, leading to the misconception that their eggs would also be black
#truth
Wait..no one got the Spinal Tap reference??
I definitely thought of Spinal Tap! 🤣
Impressive!
This image, idk, but it is a real breed of chicken and they are valuable. Even their hybrids are imcredibly deeply coloured.
They are. Eggs are also regular colors, not black. But it would be fun if they were.
Mhm, other posters have said that too, again leading to my doubt about the image itself. Regardless! Nature itself is so cool, why invent stuff about it?
This seems fake
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayam_Ce...
I'm not saying there are no black chickens . That looks like a real chicken , the photo they posted looks photoshopped.
🤷♂️
I’m sorry I have to raise the bullshit flag on those images 🙄😒
The images may or may not be genAI but the breed of chicken is real. It’s an Ayam Cemani, the blackest of chickens.
I raise chickens -I’m well aware but AI is a thief of artists and it’s literally murdering the planet -find a link and connect to actual images
It’s super weird since you’d think it would be easier to just find pics instead of generating them. Literally no benefit to generating them. 1: it’s fake, 2: it steals, 3: it’s killing the planet, and 4 it takes longer than just looking it up. AI will lie if it doesn’t know something.
Stephen Miller has called for its extinction
Well, that's a 🐓 rooster. How does he lay eggs?
Don't say it yall
This is soon the normal price of eggs in Trumpistan
Never seen anything like that! Thanks for the share...😉
Why are they rare? It's a bloody chicken
Saw one of these in the grocery store once. It was wild.
Tastes like chicken?
No idea, but if you read the thread, some people have kept them.
Wow!
Oooooooow beautiful
Yeah, my Sisters husbands uncles neighbors cousins dog saw one once.
They don’t lay black eggs but they are all black. I have a female.
But let's see a pic of the yolk!
Best served with the coffee made with beans that rodents first pass through their digestive system. Do you ever not wake up thinking that a lot of people have way too much fucking money?
🤔😕
Whoa
Wow Doesn't even look real. Stunning.
There's a handful of goth trust fund babies whose only diet is the eggs of..... La Pollo Diablo lol
Ayam Cemani chickens lay eggs that are cream-colored, not black. While they are known for their all-black appearance (feathers, skin, and even internal organs), their eggs are similar in color to many other chicken breeds.
They’re expensive because they’re used almost exclusively for prize cockfighting (to ye have strong legs), and their eggs are not black.
Wow, is it real? I've heard of black chicken but I thought they were talking about feathers. They're quite stunning aren't they.
The image isn't convincingly not AI (other poster says 99% based on an image checker) - but it's a real breed! Unfortunately its price tag means most folks don't get to find out a lot about them.
Well, you can find a hen for about 30€ here, fertile eggs for max 4€ each. They're not that uncommon, I had one for a few years.
If so, that's rad! I know many places offer hybrids for substantially cheaper than a completely "pure" pedigree (not inplying that's exactly what you had) since that improves access sans the steep price tag. That's a real neat animal to look after, lucky!
I'm in France, they're not that uncommon here. You can see on this (very expensive) website their price in comparison with other breeds, they're just a few euros more. www.fermedebeaumont.com/poules-de-ra...
Also, I like how much info the site has on integrating and raising the chickens, particularly (in the Ayam Cemani) keeping them inside and away from others to keep down aggression and anxiety, and proper feeding as it grows!
They have a ton of breeds on that site, incredible! And yes, the Ayam Cemani are far less expensive than I expected. Fun fact, the "Brahma" chickens, with the feathery legs? The scaly legs we think of for bird legs are modified featuers. Feathered legs is an older genetic structure!
The good news is how fast I thought it might be ai
AI 💩
You will NEVER out-Goth this bird! Suck it, ravens!
Looks AI to me
Not super sold eother way on this image, but a real breed! Even their hybrids have darker coloration. A very cool animal!
That chicken wants to know if you would like to live deliciously.
I'm sorry but isn't that a rooster? Seriously, it's a black cock! 😁😆😂
A big one
Their eggs are not black. They are a creamy yellow/off white colour.
AI
They don't lay black eggs! Such bullshit. They're cream...
AI as fuck
Yup. So sick of AI slop being passed off as truth.
Ayam Cemani - Wikipedia share.google/uLOOvMmFztGt... Fact checking: 1. Eggs are cream color the image of eggs is fake they aren't black. 2. Their bones are not black but their organs are. Overall, really pretty chicken.
This real one looks way more majestic 🖤
This is a hen. The others were roosters.
I stand corrected. Looking at other photographs, the rooster is indeed as glossy as pictured and equally majestic. I would tell him if I encountered him and he were not inclined to peck me.
The image of eggs is just displaying duck eggs, you’re right this chicken has cream colored eggs and normal colored bones and blood
The "bones are black" bit may draw from the name's translation being translated to "down to the bones" (a variant of thorough). It doesn't specify "to the bones"(inclusive/exclusive). Also the price tag keeps a lot of us from findi g out for sure ':D
That is one good looking chicken.
Is that you Johnny Cash? Chicken in black. 😂
I had no idea there's this breed of chicken. Amazing!
You're just trying to make me google for big black cocks, aren't you?
Omg 😂😂😂😂
Does it have a cockspick on its head?
The comment that won the internet today 🤣
😂
😂🤣😂
Lol. I know someone who has one.
Ooooh noooo😅🤣😂
I'm dying💀😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😁😁😁😁😁🤣🤣🤣
Cool
A Goth chicken! Does it like to listen to The Cure?
This looked very AI to me, but after a quick google... no, these are actually real chickens. Amazing!
We have black chickens with rainbow tail feathers that live on our street like a little gang.
That isn't a racist jab, they literally go into people's yards like they own it, and everyone's so used to them they just...go.
It does kinda look like their comb and wattles have been taken to with a black texta 😁
That looks FAR more accurate and realistic for a chicken.
I just paint the eggs from the store black. Sell on eBay and undercut the man! 🤪
They don’t lay black eggs and I got mine for free! 😂😂
Any chicken can have black eggs with enough spray paint.
Interesting, though I eat neither eggs nor chicken.
That’s amazing..
This look more AI made then anything
"Don't believe everything you read on the internet" - Abraham Lincoln
They don’t lay black eggs
I know now. they are cream.
Then why post the pic with black eggs? Also they are crème/light/blue eggs and no black bones
C’mon people this chicken does not lay black eggs!😉
It is a rooster! I was so focused on those phoney black eggs, I didn’t even look at the bird. 😂
No, for two reasons. It is a rooster and hens lay cream eggs.
And roosters do NOT lay eggs at all. Given the results of the last US election, I felt compelled to add this part.
Ahh, The Rolling Stones' muse. Met a black chicken in a doorway & the rest is history. I'll see myself out... #darkhumour #nz #music #rocknroll #black #chickens #tipyourwaiter
The chicken, an Ayam Cemani, is real. It has a genetic trait that makes its meat, organs, and feathers black. However, its eggs are cream-coloured, not black. The $2500 price is also a viral exaggeration. They are expensive, but not to that extent.
That's right, chicken breed called the Ayam Cemani
I always wanted one of these beautiful birds, but oof, they be waaay too expensive.
So trump isn't the only creature with a black heart.
There are inaccuracies in the post about these chickens. For one, their eggs are not black and do not sell for $2,500. This site has better details. backyardpoultry.iamcountryside.com/chickens-101...
It’s a beauty, but some of this info is fake. FYI, the eggs are not black!
It's not AI but it is a result of human selective breeding. Although the genetic mutation existed naturally, humans, over the centuries, exploited it to produce the blackness we see today. shorturl.at/5ereX
They’re metal AF tho…
Ayam cemani isnt that rare. And there’s no chicken laying black eggs on this planet.
it costs 35$
Ah, yes. I tend to black as well
Sure, but what color are your eggs?
Ha ha ha ha ha, thanks.
Can’t be??
It isn't. No hen lays black eggs.
There is a black chicken that has black feathers, skin and meat, but they lay cream colored eggs. Please do a simple search on the interwebs before posting to make sure your info is correct. The picture of the eggs is probably from the Cayuga duck.
GOTH CHICKEN
I can see why he’s magnificent ✨
Gorgeous!
BBC energy
reminds me of @sablefeline.scares.men
not the racism 😔❌
Yeah, their bones are not black and their blood is red. More like an adult Indonesian black chicken can go for a few thousand dollars as they’re prized for cock fighting Also the eggs are not black, but they go for about $16 each.
So the eggs, does it taste the same or better?
The official name is Ayam Cemani. The eggs are not black and their blood and bones are of a normal color. But, one could feel free to paint them black in order to continue this myth.
Looks like a piece of art.
I have a rooster & 2 hens of this breed. The eggs are brown & they aren’t this expensive unless they’re being shipped from Indonesia. I ordered hatchable eggs from eBay to get them.
It doesn’t lay black eggs, why would you post something false?
Blocked that account. Full of AI nonsense.
Eggs are white not black.
I ate black chicken in China. And yes, it tasted like chicken.
No, the Indonesian black chicken, also known as Ayam Cemani, does not lay black eggs. 🤣...Google
Why don’t I believe this?
...Are the eggs normal inside or can I let my inner Ohio Goth Chick out for breakfast sometimes?
Is this the new Facebook now?
🌏👩🚀🔫👨🚀
Unless Meta reenables my account....
One of my accounts has been deleted.
Not yet give it time as everything will turn to 💩
Extremely fake looking pictures!
The cockrel is real, the eggs are AI bullshit.
A Goth chicken! Who knew???
Great. Now I have to resist the urge to post it.
Wow 🤯
Okay. Interesting. If you break an egg what are the colours inside?
I have 4! They're this year's chicks, so they're not laying yet. They are very nice birds. A good addition to my flock.
Plz don't expect black eggs - they're white. The birds are beautiful
So it’s all dark meat? Yeah, no thanks, have to pass
Beautiful bird!
Ok WOW!
Correct except for stuff about the eggs. Strangely, that’s the only thing that is white. Ayam Cemani if anyone is curious…
AI slop and disinformation, can we throw tomatoes at this account? Actually, let's not! Let's not waste food :D
The ‘Lamborghini’ of chickens!
Absolutely stunning!
Stunning -- but not quite as advertised. "The hens lay tinted or cream-colored eggs, although they are poor setters and rarely hatch their own brood . . . However, contrary to popular belief, their bones are not actually black. Their blood is normally colored." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayam_Ce...
How do roosters lay eggs?
Smell the Glove
Meh, it still just tastes like chicken.
Looks a bit roosterish.
Roosters are a chicken, as are hens.
O? And they lay eggs.
The Ayam Cemani *hens*, yes? The hens are also deep black in colour, even if the image depics a rooster.
So it doesn’t lay.
No, roosters do not lay eggs, but hens do and hens are also black. However their eggs are cream.
Cream. Hmmmm.
Yeah. A rooster would have to experiance a substantial degree of intersex presentation to be able to lay eggs, and afaik that's not been reported frequently if at all. The post is talking of the chicken breed (hens and roosters!) and the hens will lay cream-shelled eggs.
Large?
Slightly larger than normal large hen's eggs.
But will they be tasty? I would imagine rooster, “intersexed” or not, would be somewhat tough but slimy. I need sleep but will probably dream about breakfast.
I'm not sure where we seemed to have lost each other here.
I blame Donny.
Seems silly that they photoshopped the eggs black, especially since this is a real bird.
What does the scrambled egg look like!
Wow! Awesome
Lol nice 😅
Tbf, 2500 is currently the going rate per egg under Trump.
Sorry, that type of chicken is real but those pictures are fake.
I did not know that rosters could lay eggs.
😍😍😍 Beautiful
They do not lay black eggs.
www.google.com/search?q=tra... they look so cool
It looks like a yakuza blacked out mercedes. From the eggs henchmen and a boss hatch.
wooo
This breed does not lay black eggs. The rest is true. greenfirefarms.com/ayam_cemani....
The Indonesian Ayam Cemani actually does NOT lay black eggs.
That's according to this blog which has the usual annoying amount of pop-up ads: thephathen.com/black-chicke...
Also Wikipedia says the eggs are "tinted or cream-colored". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayam_Ce...
Blood is normal red. Eggs might cost $16 per egg. Bones are not black. Lots of incorrect info in the original posting here. Even the images of the chickens and eggs/nest look AI or models to me. What seems too fantastic usually is.
Idc if the eggs are fake… want 🖤
how do you get eggs from a rooster?
Wow!!!!!! Wow wow wow
Yes, the chicken is rich in melanin.
Wow, that's amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
bones?
For more info, Google "big black cocks"
Ayam Cemani
My ancestors used to have a black chicken farm in Northern Germany. Which is where our last name comes from. A mixture of Northern and Southern dialects. Proud to be a black chicken
But the eggs are just chicken eggs right?
Yes and they're not black
Correct.
It seems that the eggs are not actually black, but the meat of the chicken is. That seems unappetizing to me, but I’d totally want one of these birds as a pet. 🖤
“I wish I could find some black caulk!” youtu.be/in6WqBHRtJQ?...
Gorgeous Rooster! What does the Hen look like? My daughter has recently begun raising rare breeds of chickens.
It's got that look about it like someone cut out the chicken from the picture really carefully....
@everyone is the yolk black too….? Cos I don’t get it 😂 🐥 😂 🌹👸👠
No, the eggs aren't even black. The roosters are real.
Does it taste like chicken?
Don't know.
Wow that is a wow
Cool I had all black chickens can remember what kind they were but they laid white eggs
AKA AI chicken.
There is such a thing but their eggs aren’t black.
Nah these are real images, but the eggs are duck eggs, this chicken lays cream-colored eggs. But the expensive all-black chicken pictured here is real, and it does have black organs and meat, though its bones and blood are just normal-colored, not black.
Yes, I looked them up and saw the same thing. But the real ones don’t quite look like this, even though they’re all black. And yes, it said the eggs are cream or light bluish.
Could be real though…kind of hard to tell.
Absolutely beautiful.
#ChickenReport.... weird.
That’s a BBC right there 😅
Wow! How gorgeous is that!?
So, nature went goth.
The eggs are not black. They’re a chalky white.
Wow! Gorgeous!
Folk-horror-lookin'-ass animal
@dreamredo.bsky.social
It's like Black Phillip, only chicken. I wonder if this one is Satan too. ^^
The chicken is real. The eggs are not. It is a real breed of chicken but the images of the eggs are absolutely fake.
But every chicken still just tastes like chicken. It's not like some chickens taste like chicken, and others taste like ambrosia from an angel's butt.
Where can I get a few hens?
Came here to ask this
Just love these ignorant posts. These birds lay creamy white eggs NOT black. There is NO species of chicken that lays black eggs.
It's flesh? So a black meat chicken breast?
black silkies also have black flesh .
Yes.
This is a rooster…. They don’t lay the eggs
The chicken, both rooster and hen, are this deeply black. Also, the hybrid offsprings have much darker coloration, too!
They never told us that Black was beautiful and that Black can be beauty, it was always associated with bad things. It is also a shame that these birds are now basically a luxury chicken fetching big money because these all over the world in great number would be great!
Wow
Does it still taste like chicken?
Apart from their eggs not being black, I’ve seen these for sale in wet markets in Singapore. They’re more expensive that regular chickens but not outrageously so.
My daily BC lesson. Kind of late in the day too almost didn’t get my fix.
Batman chicken
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Amazing
Do you suppose it knows it's black ? 🖤 Aren't birds generally attracted to the Males by their beautiful plumage ? I wonder how the Hen feels about the Cocks plumage ?
Hens are black too.
Yes of course considering the eggs are black. Suppose I oddly like to consider life through everythings eyes. Hhh !
Their eggs aren't actually black.
🙄
This is the only kind of chicken or eggs Jeff Bezos eats.
In this economy?!?!
Wrong!!! Their eggs are NOT black! Publish facts, not lies.
Nope!
AI slop
Apparently not, except for the egg.
I think they lay light colored eggs…
All 4 images are fake, the color is just black IRL, not this kind of black. But they are nice-looking and unique.
The general consensus is that only the eggs are fake.
I'm afraid the general consensus is wrong: all 4 images are fake (ChaGPT4), but the breed does exist. The original poster could have just searched for actual pictures, but they would have been less fascinating.
and the price, its 35$ a pop
Indonesian here. I can verify that their eggs aren't actually black. Usually, those are emu eggs, misattributed as cemani eggs. Its flesh ARE black though, even to the bones. To add: some of us believe they have other, mystical properties. I don't really believe it though.
Emu eggs are dark green not black
You are right, but it gets misattributed anyway because it's dark enough. It's kinda like how drinking "trendy" "charcoal" drink will turn your waste dark green for a while. There are even a few dishonest vendors out there that sells emu eggs as cemani eggs, or regular chicken eggs painted black.
*runs to hardware store for paint* I got some $2500 eggs for sale!
