Disconcerting name for something you're supposed to drink, but after hiking in the swampy heat of August in Kyushu without enough water, and getting a bottle from the vending machine that, naturally was a short distance from the trailhead, it was the most heavenly thing I've ever imbibed

The funniest part of Pocari Sweat is that, in my experience of drinking it on and off for over a decade living in Japan, it straight up tastes like sweat. So...truth in advertising I suppose.

Yeah, but they don't try to hide it behind sweet flavor. It tastes like someone just wrung the sweat out of a marathon runner into a bottle and slapped a label on it.

It reminds me of gatorlyte, which is truly foul outside the specific circumstances it’s made for. I fear for anyone that drinks it casually 💀
