I'm gonna nitpick just a moment. Outlawed didn't mean it's gone, but he seems to think nobody breaks laws for profit and pride or when they don't agree with it. Naivety is a sad thing to see in what I assume is an adult.
I've not been awake long enough to address the last part without rereading a bunch. There are still state laws that allow certain forms of slavery in the south. The civil war didn't END slavery in the US. On that note here, have something to chew on for a bit. YOU can meet ex-slaves too.

Do you mean states that allows for involuntary servitude? Many state constitutions have that wording in regard to incarcerated people being forced to work. The 13th Amendment abolished slavery except for those rightfully incarcerated. Don’t know what other countries do about slavery.

I didn't specify slave. But if you think black people weren't legally punished for being born with too much melanin, you've got a lot to learn. MLK Jr. Was killed with a grenade because he was an influential force towards ending that racism.
