Probably start with my dad. Pretext: I had a Sanders bumper sticker. I'm still angry that after Sanders lost, his first words the next time we saw each other were, "Voted for Sanders? How'd that work out for you?" and flashed that grin that actually made me want to enact violence on him.
I will be hugging my partner and taking a few minutes to get over being stunned before making sure every discord server, chat group, and social platform knows.

I got a 24 suspension at one point for my choice of words. Though I should have phrased it differently, the person it was directed to was describing what they believe to be a necessary genocide of a cultural group. It hit even harder being part of it.

Absolutely and that's not lost on me. But when somebody generalizes large swathes of people and says to send them back or whatever, they clearly don't care about the lives they would condemn to death and suffering when all they want is hope and a chance.
I've known a couple of people who work(ed) in immigration. They describe a bleak landscape of high demand vs low staff and funding. So people are often left in limbo for months on end.

I've never once encountered somebody like who you're talking to that cared in the least what it costs in time or money to become a full citizen.
I would like to think otherwise. Now we have GOP members of congress being directly told that the power they thought they held doesn't matter. When the entire party is after power and control, then one is taking that power from others, that gives them cause to splinter and push back.

I wish the only thing they had to come back to or from were daily lessons. These kids should be learning math, history, and reading comprehension. Decided to look up this new term I've never seen or heard before. It means trans person. It's an intentional slur meaning to be transmasc. "You already know the answer" is a commonly used gaslighting term for avoiding saying things you know looks bad to say or contradicts what you WANT to say.
I'm pretty sure yes, but nothing coming to mind at the time. BTW I had never heard that term before and had to look it up, rather fascinating actually.
