I’ve been thinking about selling my cdj’s and just getting some actual 1200’s or whatever Pioneers equivalent are. Probably should have never gotten rid of my mark 2’s in the first place but here I am
heard that! i sold my 1200s like a month before they got discontinued. i was kicking myself because i gave away the pair, in a coffin case, to my buddy for $800 total. back in 08 they were everywhere and super cheap so i didn’t think anything of it.
Word is those Pioneer’s aren’t too shabby and use the lapsed copyright for the 12’s so they are nearly identical
also i’m jealous of your miata. i wanted to buy one for so long and finally had a couple grand saved up during covid but couldn’t find a reasonable one in my area so i bought an 87 VW Cabriolet instead, which was the biggest mistake ever. thought it would be an easy fun low and slow project. nope.
yeah i just have some old pioneer belt drive table at my house just to play my records when i’m cleaning and stuff but i would also love to get a whole 1200 rig again. hell, i need any kind of dj rig. your boii is poor! only time i get to DJ anymore is when i play live.
I pulled my 2000’s out of storage and got a 250mk2 DVS for rekordbox at the start of Covid, poverty build but it gets the job done!
yeah the last dj rig i owned was a pair of 400s and a djm 800. i sold it before i moved to philly like 7 years ago and never replaced it. i did curb score a working numark ns7 which i’m super stoked about because i had one as a kid, but none of the drivers work with apple silicon.
I just remembered I have a set of 400’s in my basement. The CD drive is messed up on one but I was able to convert the Serato time code to MP3 and used a thumb drive to run it. Those were great little tables!
yeah i hate pioneer because they locked themselves in as industry standard and charge outrageous money for glorified mp3 players but they do build solid products. i bought the 400s used and put them through hell and they never gave me any trouble.
I kinda want that Omni Duos thing but it needs to come down about half price. Or make one that isn’t portable for cheaper
omfg that thing is $1600?! i built my whole studio with an M4 mac mini for less than that. no joke, my computer, monitors, displays, desk, ableton license, and chair was like $1500 all in. isn’t a damn XDJ cheaper than that?!
i’m tuned out of the dj world lol i’ve just been focused on producing. i stopped touring with my last alias 10 years ago and haven’t been spinning much at all since then. i wanna scoop an flx4 or whatever just to practice mixing and get more confident but i haven’t had a job in over a year now lol
