I got "hit on" a few times as an undergrad, and though i was desperately socially maladroit in many ways, I picked up what they were laying down pretty quick and vamoosed. there are certain advantages to having trouble uh masking I suppose? There are worse things than being thought rude.
but even in other contexts. I remember a friend of a friend who I'd just met making VERY warm overtures to me, what seemed like "kindness" and being just: no. Buying tickets to a play without asking me first, for instance. I forget what else, just did not experience her like my other friend did.
The thing is, I was already familiar w/Jesus, and knew that most Christian sects were much more conservative than my home church (the UCC), but I was not prepared to be fed lasagna and then get told my church wasn’t real Jesus cause we had a lady pastor. It was a real, “mistakes been made” moment.
*swallow* thanks for the lasagna, lady, but, uh. pasta la vista?
Yeah but my parents were 30 min away so I had to endure everybody talking about their first time Finding Jesus. I listened to like 5 girls recite these religious experiences but when it came my turn, I couldn’t even fake it.
lol. it sounds like a good story or scene though. "I found Him in my sofa, along with my phone and a LOT of cat hair. Wanna see?"
