Also, you can't "deport" a citizen... A minor citizen can go with a deported parent, but that doesn't mean the child was deported.

It does if the minor child was supposed to stay in America with the father and not be deported with the mother. The mother specifically said she didn't want to take the child, the father specifically said he wanted custody of the child, but they deported the child anyway. Without a hearing.

They exiled the child. Not deported.
Still not deportation. Exiling. Kidnapping. Human trafficking. "Deportation is the process of removing a noncitizen from the U.S. for violating immigration law." www.usa.gov/deportation-...
Now we're just arguing over semantics.
No. We are arguing about the misuse of legal terms that can have lasting consequences. It is illegal for a deported person to reenter the country. 8 U.S.C. 1326 www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/...
It's illegal for someone to ignore a court order, such as the way the Felon in Chief is currently ignoring a supreme court and several lower court orders, but here we are.
It's not illegal, per SCOTUS, to break the law in pursuit of his official duties because Chief Justice Roberts forgot that the only power he has comes from words.
So let's not let the felons redefine words. It will not work in our favor. Citizens cannot be deported. If they are removed without due process that is an illegal exile.
Fine. Call it an exile. It is illegal for them to Exile people. As you said, the Supreme Court says he can break the law, including the one about not exiling people. He's still going to do it no matter what you call it. What matters is what we do about it after we remove him from office.
I'm afraid that if we get him impeached and removed or simply wait it out and he is replaced on January 20th 2029, he will never face Justice.
He won't. He has enough money and lawyers to gum up the system until the Big Macs claim his rotten husk.
Exile is an illegal political act against a citizen. This is important if those citizen kids want to come back. Now, IANAL. I will happily take notes from an immigration attorney on this.
However when we cede the legal terms to allow fascist to redefine them, we cede the law to them as well.
"Banishment."
Youβre on the same side, bros. Keep the powder dry for later.
This is my windmill... getting as many people on the side of "these words matter and you may not redefine them". Its larger target is media, who take the language of the oppressor without pushback.
Yes but that poor guy had no idea what you were on about!
We found the Nazi apologist.
I didn't say it was right. My point was about the legal terms that could be used to deny reentry when that kid wants to come back for college. Legal language gets tossed around in rhetoric, but has a weight of its own.
None of what is currently happening is okay. None of what has happened at the southern border has been okay for 25 years under any administration. None of the "fight against communism" in South America which has precipitated this crisis (a humanitarian crisis, not a migration crisis) is okay.
