Just began reading Autocracy Inc. Holiday reading it isn't. But brilliant. And unputdownable. I'm reading it in one of the countries that makes a repeated appearance too. All of a sudden I'm a bit concerned and not just looking over my shoulder for a waiter or waitress!!!

A TRUE MUST READ.

This has been available in paperback in the UK for several weeks now and there were plenty in Waterstones Sauchiehall St a couple of weeks ago. It is clearly written and probably the easiest read I've had in the last three years. Highly recommended

Thank you for posting this. I "only" have the HC version from when it was first published. The new preface is an important addition. We are all witnessing history in the making. So context and recall what has happened in such a short time already are important.

I read it last year, right after its release: a great book, written in clear language that makes everyone understand the real danger autocracies pose to democracies. I can only recommend it to all!

SCOTUS hasn't lost its mooring it's pulled up anchor and full steam ahead. The corruption being passed as laws with an untouchable life time appointment protection is another broken wheel of our government. Turns out democracy is actually a COMMITMENT not an experiment.

The book is excellent, just as everything you have written so far. I've been following your work since my political science studies in Krakow where I've been at your lecture in 2008 or 2009, and please explain me one thing: how can you sleep, knowing what you know? It freaks me out, to be honest.

You know way more about these processes than I ever will and just knowing what I know feels like watching a train disaster in slow motion without nothing I can do to avert it. I absolutely admire your dedication to your work - how can you keep any sense of hope in all this? Thanks a lot!

Describing him as favouring US business makes it sound acceptable to a wider range of people that would baulk at the reality. This is for him, only for him, and he doesn't give a fig for US business interests outside of that very narrow goal. People need to know that and be reminded at every turn.
