Also Putin must be told that Europe is not more scared of Russia than Putin is scared of a united Europe.

He won't listen, it needs to be shown.
True, „told“ shall be seen in an active meaning here 😀
Fabian, I hope that this is the bottom of the barrel, and that Merz und Cie don't continue to dig even deeper.
We must step up the aid to Ukraine. "As long as it takes" is better than nothing, but not enough. Time is long overdue to "whatever it takes".
We have to tell the Russians every day that no matter how many people they are willing to sacrifice for nothing in Ukraine, Europe will stand by Ukraine and fund its resistance for as long as Ukraine chooses to fight, or until Russia is too exhausted to continue. 2/3
Make it clear that whether this ends in six months or in five years, it makes no difference to us. The only thing that will change from here on out is the Russian death toll. 3/3
Is n't this exactly what is meant by "as long as it takes?" This was obviously too little in the past. No strategy, no deterrence and so on...
russian and Ukrainian death toll. 🙁
And Europe has to retaliate for Russian acts of asymmetric warfare, like GPS jamming of airliners.
While in the meantime time surrendered everything else’s to an equal evil beyond the pond president.
Agreed.
someday Europe will have to join the fight.
The problem with your (sic.) "solution" is, unfortunately, Russia seems to be in a much superior position to win a long-term war of attrition against Ukraine, with or without "limitless European support". The only thing that might change that, is "deployment of European troops" -- e.g. "WW3".
You should realize that Russia is a shit country with shitty economy, and Europe is in the zenith of its capability
By the way... I have no problem in stating that Putin is a dreadful, cynical war criminal, and that Russia has a lot of explaining to do, relative to its aggression against Ukraine. But that is a different thing from airily dismissing Russia's real war capabilities... which are "substantial".
You are repeating standard, rote neocon propaganda about Russia -- the same kind as the reactionary Western Far Right have been promoting, since at least 1946 or so. Reality is otherwise. The Russian economy has challenges, certainly; but it is well capable of sustaining a long, drawn-out conflict.
I am sick of as long as it takes - they need their asses whipped and handed back to them
With a smaller and poorer country being attacked the as-long-as-it-takes strategy is just cruel.
The original sin was to imagine there was some way of ending the war that didn't amount to Russian defeat. Given Putin's objectives, that is impossible.
It would be way clearer if we began with destroying the jammers in kaliningrad and transnistria.
