i think abt this a lot bc honestly. real. the way chernobyl is framed as the USSR purposely killing everyone and not how the soviets sacricifed themselves ONCE AGAIN to prevent europe from turning into an irradiated wasteland actually makes me INSANE

The show is loosely based on Alexejevich's telling of the whole incident and yeah, she's a fervent anti-commie. Damn, Legasov was a convinced communist who didn't just go "our whole system is fucked". The whole caricature of an obnoxious old commie councilman also lol
