So he wants poor, desperate folks to give up one of their kidneys to get some temporary money. That isn't sustainable -- they don't have a supply of extra kidneys to keep selling. And they risk death if their remaining kidney fails, as they won't be able to buy into that market for "spare" kidneys.

The problem here is that longevity drugs are 100% for the rich. No insurance company in the world is ever going to pay for a drug that 100% of their customers want. It will be entirely self pay, and it ain't going to be cheap.

And if folks did figure out how to bootleg the rich people's meds, you can bet the rich people place would probably hire mercenaries to take out the offending party. Dirty secret of most of these therapies, they are actually not hard to make. Like an overglorified beer vat. Biohackers are a thing

Those drugs will eventually shorten their lives. They all have side effects.

There is no such thing as a "longevity drug." Eat better, move more, and be very, very lucky.

Not yet of course, but there is the real possibility of such a thing being developed. Eat better and move more ain't gonna get ya to 120. In ten, twenty, or thirty years, a longevity drug might.

We already have longevity drugs. They're called things like vaccines and antibiotics. The idea that someone could create a drug which repairs the damaged telomeres at the ends of every chromosome in your body to extend your life is only conceivable in fiction novels.
