wishing every youtuber making multiple thumbnails that switch randomly on the main page a very "please stop, dear god I beg you, this SEO chasing stuff is a nightmare and even if i like you i will blacklist a video if it feels like its trying to trick me into watching it, please stop."
it makes it harder to find the video in my Watch Later list because I'm looking for a certain thumbnail I saw earlier. Most times I just give up looking for it instead of trying to read all the little titles that are cut off for no reason at the 3rd word. youtube is so annoying
Yeah. I'm sure it's better in click through rates or whatever, but it's adding additional slop to an already sloppy as hell interface as a user.
It's literally a method to trick people who weren't interested in a video into clicking on it by making it look like a new video. And i'm sorry but i'm against dark patterns, even when creators I like use them.
youtube already very obviously hates everyone who uses its platform & what I needed wasn't creators to hop in and let me know they hate me too. I'm sure that's not the intent, but it makes it maddening to navigate in a coherent manner.
I agree with everything you just said. It's exhausting, and I wish there was a good alternative to YT that didn't encourage all this weird behavior from creators, and was easier for the users to use, and didn't have 1000 different bugs/glitches, and hey maybe it could have some customer service?
