Speaking from experience, I guarantee those soldiers are hating that "mission" and know they are just being used. It's worse for the National Guard because they are actual civilians with regular jobs and families they are away from for this stunt.

It's doubly screwed up because Washington D.C. (like most other cities/states) already HAS departments and programs to pick up trash and litter, primarily through their Department of Public Works (DPW).

What I think happened; Gavin Newsom teased that tangerine taint sumbeyatch by pointing out that the National Guard didn't really do anything while deployed to L.A. When the guard arrived to D.C. they were seen just aimlessly walking around so now ordered to pick up litter.

This is good to hear. I have not served, neither of my children served, so I don't have information. I value your input. Thank you. My father was a Vietnam Vet, but sadly, he passed in 2018. I know all of this would make him extremely sad. He was a liberal through and through. Hated 1.0 Trump.
