The average age of these personnel are 18-22 y/o who likely don't have enough experience to make such an informed decision. They might hate the mission but don't know how to object and/or confused about what their options are which is a main reason the military prefers recruiting from high schools.

Being realistic about the situation would be a start. There will never be a 100% mutiny of military personnel who disagree with the mission they're given. Some can and do object but it's mathematically impossible to expect the entire military to just shut down without a lawful order.

I think a LOT of us feel the same. However, I have hope that a general hunger for common sense will prevail. I thing there's a limit to how ignorant people are willing to be after it directly affects them.

Yup, I also notified @blueskysupp.bsky.social with the info. Looks like it's just part of the "first phase" of a phishing scam that starts with getting BS passwords. If users use the same password for the email address they use of their BS account then that could be trouble.
Some of them DO choose not to deploy, there’s just not any reporting about it for some reason. There’s a bunch of legit reasons they can use: medical, work, hardship, etc but either the news doesn’t consider it newsworthy or maybe it’s too personal of info to be publicly reported.

Yup, however, I think a lot of people who don’t really understand what he means by that get easily duped by maga into thinking it’s communism…which they also don’t know anything about.
In most cases they probably don’t get pay that matches their civilian salaries, just the regular base military pay scale plus whatever extra for the kind of duties they perform. However, I was only deployed while active duty military so I could be off regarding national guard deployments.
They’ll get paid for being deployed and it varies depending on if the duty is hazardous or not.
For better or worse, word through the military grapevine is that a lot of them are deciding not to reenlist thanks to the tangerine taint.

What I think happened; Gavin Newsom teased that tangerine taint sumbeyatch by pointing out that the National Guard didn't really do anything while deployed to L.A. When the guard arrived to D.C. they were seen just aimlessly walking around so now ordered to pick up litter.
It's doubly screwed up because Washington D.C. (like most other cities/states) already HAS departments and programs to pick up trash and litter, primarily through their Department of Public Works (DPW).
Speaking from experience, I guarantee those soldiers are hating that "mission" and know they are just being used. It's worse for the National Guard because they are actual civilians with regular jobs and families they are away from for this stunt.

So here's what I think happened; had a "discussion" with another user regarding being arbitrarily put on their "moderation" list because I follow more people than follow me. The user didn't like my opinion so next thing I know, people are getting these bluesky verification DM's from my account.
I have no ability to verify any Bluesky accounts so if you got a DM from me saying so it's fake and do not click on any links in the message. Bluesky will not DM you to offer verification.

My first civilian job after I left active duty USMC was as a V.A. file clerk and I really enjoyed my time (2 years) there helping my fellow vets. Hopefully we'll not only make it better but also making it so something like what this administration is doing doesn't happen again.

Moderate/curate all you like and I don't know you enough to care to block or report you or for that matter, bother going through the trouble of putting you on some sort of proverbial "naughty list". I also try not to judge people too harshly on here but hey, that's just me, c'est la vie.
You're actively targeting people for responding to follow back lists or being added to them. Most of us don't get notified when/if we get added to them and it doesn't look like you are contacting the list creators or listees to vet them before targeting them for your own list.

Again, do you vet everyone you put on the lists? How do you know/confirm with them whether or not they're following the people they want to? From what I understand, these lists exist as sort of a warning for others so you are still unfairly affecting other's experience here.
TBF, you may have the best reasons for doing this but you are going about it in a really haphazardly way unless you are actually vetting each person you're putting on these lists.

So how do you know whether or not the people on those lists are people we want to follow? Some of those accounts are people trying to connect. For whatever reasons, it seems like you just made up your own rules and terms to enforce in order to get people's accounts suspended for violating them.
