The Confederate monument was erected long after the civil war during Jim Crow era in order to say that the civil war was not about slavery but states rights (a Lie) - Robert E Lee after the civil war wrote a letter condemning monuments to the civil war and the division that they inspired

Let's not whitewash Arnold's treason. He was an American hero for his actions and leadership at the battles of Quebec and Saratoga. He later sold info on West Point because he felt slighted by promotions/commands. He didn't commit insurrection in the defense of slavery though.
