The fact is, managing a military is quite different from the civilian world, force generation for task forces or missions must take into account individuals careers along with qualifications. Simply filling positions to appease an outside organization or those opining in the media is ridiculous.
To meet those quotas we would have to remove individuals in some cases from command positions to put them in a staff job, which would not only upset the individual it would damage their career.
Right. Do you realize how often these predictable excuses have become tropes?
I find it odd that people on SM think they know what type of equipment the CAF should buy or how they should manage individuals for tasks and their careers. So easy to criticize from the outside yet they’ve never served a day or more importantly don’t understand force employment concepts.
A journalist wrote the article on subs - in case you’re trying to incl a respected journalist who has reported on the military and defence as “SM”. Or for that matter that your opinion should never be challenged as you alone define or represent CAF. It’s getting old, Wayne.
I’m getting to the point where I’ll simply sidestep this tired line of commenting.
