1: no they really cant. America is big. Very big. They do not have enough troops (refusing to seat congress, however, is a more realistic concern) 2: only for presidential elections and that would still require a GOP majority to actually push through 3: then the election results arent a worry

my point isn’t that a coup is illegal, it obviously is, it’s that there’s no mechanism for a president to not count absentee votes. state republicans can violate their state constitutions and send in false slates, but that’s not the same thing. there’s no federal tool for banning mail voting
