In Ohio it was passed for Republicans Independent and Democrats to redistrict this time. A nonpartisan committee. After the Trump GOP they just threw out the vote on the ballot. Only the GOP drew the new maps. Democrats are suing. Special elections didn't happen for local and state issues.

Congress determines how many Congressional representatives each state gets based on the Census, states can't add seats, NM has 3, VT has 1, TX is redrawing the districts, not adding more seats.

New York is following its state constitution when it comes to redistricting, and the process can’t be completed until 2027 for use in the 2028 elections. Changing the map for the 2026 midterms would require breaking the law, so don’t expect any changes in New York before then.
Its why 2024 was the last free and fair election America will have. By 2028, its done. America is finished as a democracy, and is now sliding headlong towards dictatorship. You either stand up to that, or accept it.

Gerrymandering may not get it done but the campaign will have so much ammunition. The DNC better have 20 close seats targeted, regardless of state. Here, Dem Marie Glusenkamp-Perez is already under fire from the Republican machine. Tough district.
