Here’s the thing: I don’t think Newsom will win the nomination. He is soulless and does not have any actual beliefs and no amount of centrist pivots will get him through enough of the primaries. But it is important to keep insulting him because he might see it and it might make him feel bad.

Newsom doesn't fully appeal to centrists. The parties center is more progressive on homeless people. Specifically the POC caucuses ala Black Caucus are to his left considerably, same with Trans people. He appeals on one very specific thing and then it falls apart, hard to win a nomination that way
