There needs to be a balance there. Would you be willing to give up your job and your family's future? I'm not saying economy at all costs, but there are also many good people that are hurting in Canada right now and this is just the beginning.

They would hurt a lot less if they reslized that they need to pivot to something else. It's not like the signs haven"t been there for decades. O & G are in rapid decline, as they need to be.

So then why not maximize our revenue in order to finance a transistion? For example, we will need large amounts of fuel to extract and refine our crtical minerals. Why wouldnt we want to use Canadian fuel to do that? Why not use crude revenue to finance that project?

For the long term, creating more green power from natural resources profits would make sense. Enabling us to move away from fossil fuels more quickly.

My concern is that the cost of this new pipeline will end up becoming part of our national debt. None of the big oil companies are coming forward to finance this pipeline. Oil is peaking, the world has to change, we have no choice. China is declining it's dependence on fossil fuels.

My concern is we will have no way to get oil to our refineries in Ontario when things get worse with the Americans and we still need gasoline and diesel in the short term.

Is that because of the reversal of line 9 to access cheaper crude from the USA? That line was reversed twice before, wouldn't another reversal give back access to west coast Canadian crude for Ontario?

I am aware of a natural gas pipeline to ontario that is entirely within canada but i dont believe one exists for oil. If the americans shut off their section, how will we get our oil to half of our country? Thats my concern.

IMO I would rather see the east move away from oil but can't see it happening fast enough. Our clean tech "experts" in the media/social media actually fight against a critical clean tech option - clean hydrogen. Taking that into consideration I wouldn't fight against a new oil pipeline through 1/2

Canada to supply the refineries etc in Ontario. Unless we all get on board with all the truly needed clean tech options we will never achieve our climate goals. It really is that simple. 2/2

That is the answer. And the only worthy answer. Let's get on with that, rather than any more fossil fuel fussing.

Cutting off those pipelines would do serious damage to the American refineries dependent on Canadian crude. The other issue is the time it takes to build alternative pipelines to avoid the U.S. Depending on terrain, it can take years. The cost would be huge and with declining oil use, a huge debt.

It can take years, but I don't believe it has to. Look at how quickly our grandparents were able to build military hardware in WW2. Because of what was at stake. I believe we are facing similar threats now and a similar mobilization is necessary.

I'm waiting to see what happens in the USA when the tariffs start pushing prices higher. Hopefully harassing Canada will be the last thing on their mind. Some of our Canadian terrain makes putting in pipelines very difficult. Crazy times.

We can make a better economy, and we can do it sustainably. The world is changing and we need to change with it.
