Let’s be honest. Is he going to send the military to red states with high crime? To Memphis? Houston? Cleveland? If it were about crime he’d send the Guard to those cities too… yet he hasn’t mentioned those places.

Hmmmmm….. Sounds like an honest response. But for myself, I don’t think we need a military presence in all cities, whether red or blue. Seems like the beginning of a military state.

Second, if the experts for some reason said a military operation were required, I would mobilize them in both red and blue cities with high crime. Not doing this sends the message that the president is purposely stoking civil conflict.

I’m no expert in crime, so if I were the president I would first bring together a team of bipartisan experts to create a viable plan. Then I would reach out to D and R mayors to hold pressers to communicate and implement the plan in various cities to prevent any kind of divisiveness among citizens.

I had my chance? I’m a registered independent. A progressive conservative in the tradition of Teddy Roosevelt. Anyway, just bc one party does something wrong, doesn’t mean the other party should also do something stupid. Seek out crime experts and then implement the best plan.

And—honestly—why do you think the president has only named blue cities for future military operations? If you look at the top cities for violent crime per capita, red cities outnumber the blue ones, yet he hasn’t mentioned them for NG deployment. Obviously he’s not doing this to reduce crime.
