If Democrats win elections while saying trans people should lose the rights they currently have, and shouldn't gain any further rights, then trans people will lose their rights for at least a generation. Look at how fast that's happening in the UK now that being anti-trans is mainstream politics

I don’t think a perfect political candidate exists, I very much believe in electing policies not people but that being said, the inverse is not true. There are disqualifying factors, Newsom has hit a bunch of them.

To me it's much more nuanced than that. Gavin newsom can want in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first. I would obviously prefer someone else and they're probably will be someone else but in the meantime he's taking the wind out of trump's sales and I dig it.
Trans rights are human rights. A politician who would sacrifice trans people the second he believes it will give him a momentary political advantage will sacrifice you too. As for Gavin running in 2028, his POTUS ambitions have been clear since his Mayoral days to those who have been watching him.
Although his ambitions are clear that does not mean that he will be the nominee. I remember some of the shitty things that he's done and if there were a better choice I would definitely take it but right now he has got trump on the ropes and I am all for that
