Different lawyer. Did not know about Tony Buzbee, the Watson accusers attorney though, just read about him….WOW, yikes. I’m a Clevelander who despises Watson (most of us do, on multiple fronts) but YEESH.

But I've known and seen lawyers that are the worst of the worst. So when they start asking, did you ever talk to this guy? We can get you money. It always makes me question what the real truth could be.

But I have also known some very questionable attorneys, folks whose judgment and self interest I would not trust. We’ll never know I suspect.

As a rule, I believe victims, and read some of the details of the allegations, but someone once asked me how many of the accusers I thought were entirely truthful, and how many were only seeking a pay day. Obviously I don’t know, would like to assume settlements were based on individual facts/cases.

I was a court process server for a group of lawyers for a while. There was this one lawyer who was a true scumbag. He tried to sleep with my wife and many other people's wives. He was a pretty big dude, but this one guy caught him and beat the crap out of him.

The guy that caught him was a second-degree blackbelt of average size. He had no trouble handling the lawyer. The funny thing that one of the other lawyers from the scumbag lawyers office defended the blackbelt. The one lawyer had slept with his wife also.

I am a lawyer - and also frequently the first to unapologetically and loudly criticize other lawyers and the profession. We are the WORST. A student in my law school section SAed a fellow student - got to stay in school, currently a BigLaw partner. The victim dropped out within months.

But like you said, there are more women that get brushed off, and nothing gets done to the guilty person. This happens either because the victim gets paid off or because of fear. That is sad. The scales of justice need to be more fairly balanced and people's rights protected.

That is truly sad. Something needs to be done to people who sexually assault , rape and abuse people, especially when it's true. I say, especially when it's true, because I've known and overheard women that did it for financial gain or leverage.
